Lionel Messi influences Man Utd superstar transfer as Barcelona hunt reinforcements

BARCELONA star Lionel Messi does not want the Catalan giants to sign Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, according to reports.

Manchester United midfielder Pogba could leave with Barcelona, Real Madrid and PSG all potential destinations.

The France international’s Old Trafford career is in limbo having clashed repeatedly with Jose Mourinho throughout the campaign.

Manchester United have, publicly at least, insisted Pogba will not be going anywhere this summer.

Just this week, Mourinho said: “I think he’s going to be here next season.

“That’s my feeling.

“I can give the guarantee that I don’t want him to leave, that the club doesn’t want to sell him and I can give you the guarantee that we don’t have any approach from him or his agent or from any club.

In this moment for me, he’s staying, yes.”

And Spanish outlet Don Balon say Messi does not want Pogba to move to Barcelona this summer.

That is reportedly a view shared over at Real Madrid, with Los Blancos president Florentino Perez unwilling to enter the bidding.

Messi would prefer Barcelona to invest in players who suit their system more following the dire arrivals of Andre Gomes and Lucas Digne in recent times.

Meanwhile, Pogba clashed with Mark Noble as United drew 0-0 with West Ham last night.

And, speaking after the match, Mourinho downplayed the incident by offering a romantic view of things.

Paul and Noble, they looked in love,” he said. “Cuddles, hugs and kisses, changing shirts.

“So I think it was good, competitive. We needed points to finish second.

“They don’t win anything, because they did the job last match at Leicester but they play to win and the changes David [Moyes] made was to try that.

“Jon Moss was there and he resolved the problem in a good way because the game was intense, but the game was correct.

“When I saw the reaction of the players I believe that was nothing extraordinary.”

Barcelona are instead looking at Arthur Melo, while Real will only sign a midfielder if one of Toni Kroos, Luka Modric or Casemiro leave.
